This job posting is for a Health Care Aide position at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. The Health Care Aide will work under the supervision of health care professionals to assist with patient care and provide basic supportive care. The ideal candidate will have previous patient care experience and a recognized Health Care Aide course.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required.

Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course required.

Experience

Knowledge of Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), and Principles of Routine Practices.

Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written).

Preference for applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.

Ability to organize and prioritize workload, recognize self-development opportunities, and communicate effectively.

Ability to perform tasks relevant to the position, respond to various demands, work as a team member, and seek assistance when needed.

Physical Requirements

Position involves extensive physical activity such as lifting, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check. Candidates should not hold multiple positions across the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority legal entity totaling more than 1.0 EFT. Interviewed candidates may undergo a skills assessment.
