This job opportunity is with the Northeast Community Health Centre, Emergency Department, which offers a range of services including a 24/7 Emergency Department, Ambulatory, Laboratory, and Diagnostic Imaging services. As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will be part of the interdisciplinary health care team, providing direct care to patients to assist with daily activities, comfort, and safety. You will also offer indirect services to support overall care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or other regulated healthcare professional.

In this role, you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers to provide personal assistance, support activities of daily living, and adhere to patient care plans and facility policies. Your responsibilities will include assisting with routine care, observing and reporting on patient well-being, maintaining a safe environment, and communicating effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide personal assistance and support services to patients in accordance with care plans

Qualifications:

Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire

Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work as part of a team and with minimal supervision

Physical capability to perform all aspects of the role
