Assisted Living Alberta is seeking a Health Care Aide to join the Home Living team, providing professional support services to clients of all ages in a community setting. The Health Care Aide will work under the supervision of a regulated health professional, providing personal care, documentation, and participation in relevant in-service education. This position will be based in the Evansburg Home Care office but will support the Suburban/Rural West Team as needed.

As a Health Care Aide, you will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide personal assistance and support services to patients in accordance with the care plan and facility policies. Responsibilities include assisting with routine care, observing and reporting on patient well-being, maintaining a safe environment, and effective communication with patients and health professionals.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.

Confirmation letter of enrolment from the Directory.

Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program with a minimum of 100 hours of practicum.

Basic Cardiac Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BCLS HCP).

Communication and assessment skills.

Ability to apply health and safety principles, work effectively with others, and set priorities.

Ability to work independently in various home environments and lift approximately 25-30 lbs.

Preferred qualifications include previous experience in healthcare and work with older or chronically ill individuals, as well as a Medication Assistance Certificate or prior experience.
