Assisted Living Alberta is seeking a Health Care Aide to join their Home Living team to provide professional support services in clients' homes. The role involves personal care and support in a community setting, following a care plan and collaborating with clients, families, and the multidisciplinary team. The Health Care Aide will be supervised by a regulated health professional and may perform restricted activities. Documentation and participation in in-service education are required. This position is based in Evansburg but will provide support to the Suburban/Rural West team as needed.

As a Health Care Aide, you will work collaboratively with the team to provide personal assistance, support services, and routine care to patients in accordance with care plans and facility policies. You will assist with patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs, as well as observe and report on their mood and wellbeing. Maintaining a safe environment, effective communication with patients and health professionals, and assisting in organized activities are key responsibilities of this role.

Ability to apply health and safety principles in delivering care

Experience in the health care field or with older/chronically ill individuals

Medication Assistance Certificate or prior experience in Medication Assistance

The successful candidate will work independently in clients' homes, which could include congregate settings, single family dwellings, condos and/or walkup apartments. Therefore, the successful candidate must be able to work in different settings and environments (home environments and weather conditions) as well as be able to lift and carry medical bags, which weigh approximately 2530 lbs. Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in the health care field and work with older or chronically ill individuals.
