Shared Health is seeking a Health Care Aide to join the Diagnostic Imaging department at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. The Health Care Aide will assist with patient care under the supervision of healthcare professionals and demonstrate a commitment to the organization's vision and values.

Experience

Previous patient care experience preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required.

Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course required.

Qualifications And Skills

Knowledge of: Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), and Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions).

Preference given to those competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.

Ability to organize and prioritize workload, excellent communication skills, and work effectively in a team.

Physical Requirements

Position involves extensive physical activity such as lifting, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment.

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patientcentered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some provincewide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview Under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services, Registered Nurse, Registered Psychiatric Nurse, and/or Licensed Practical nurse, the Health Care Aide acts as a member of the health care team, assisting with patient care and providing basic supportive care as directed. The Health Care Aide demonstrates a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the region/facility/unit.
