As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, providing personal assistance to patients in accordance with care plans and facility policies. You will support patients in activities of daily living, work closely with families and caregivers, and assist nurses in providing routine care. Your responsibilities will include observing and reporting on patients' well-being, supporting a safe environment, and facilitating communication with healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personal assistance and support services to patients
Assist with patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs
Observe and report on patients' mood, health, and well-being
Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors
Support effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals
Qualifications:
Active or eligible for registration with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta
Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire
3-5 years of HCA experience
Current BLS-HCP Health Care Provider certification
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
Willingness to work independently and engage in team collaboration
