Description:
Health Care Aide position requires a certificate from a recognized program, along with organizational skills, independence, and flexibility. The role involves providing direct client care and support within established standards, policies, and procedures to meet the changing needs of clients. Responsibilities include assisting clients with daily activities, documenting care, providing personal hygiene, mobility, observation, and measurements, as well as applying safety measures and medical treatments as directed. The position also involves maintaining a safe environment, promoting infection control practices, and organizing leisure activities for clients.
Responsibilities:
Assist clients in activities of daily living, following care plans and integrating the resident Bill of Rights.
Document care, observations, and measurements in health records.
Provide personal hygiene, elimination, mobility, and observation as per care plan.
Apply and care for compression stockings, braces, and splints.
Maintain safety measures, including restraints and client vital sign measurements.
Assist with eating, oxygen therapy, and medication application.
Promote privacy, maintain hand hygiene, and infection control practices.
Assist in admissions, transfer, discharge, and care after death.
Maintain a clean environment, order and stock supplies, and encourage client participation in activities.
Demonstrate safe use of medical equipment and perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program.
Demonstrated organizational and communication skills.
Flexibility, independence, and ability to respect confidentiality.
Ability to perform duties regularly and promote a culturally diverse population.
