Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required.
 Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

HCAs working in a community setting are required to have a valid Manitoba Class 5 driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and/or willingness to travel yearround.
 Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Training and/or maintenance of competence may be required in some settings.

Qualifications and Skills

Physical Requirements

May encounter aggressive and/or agitated individuals.

 Position involves extensive physical activities such as standing, transferring and transporting patients and equipment handling between 1020 kg on a regular basis.
 Ability to work shift work and weekends.
