Position: Housing Support Worker

Location: Winnipeg Regional Health Authority

Salary: $23.50 - $27.57 per hour

The Housing Support Worker will assist in implementing Housing & Support Plans for individuals with mental health issues. Responsibilities include skill building, creating support networks, providing accurate information, and facilitating group activities. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of related experience, knowledge of housing models, and the ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

University or College education in human services, other related disciplines, or high school diploma and related training.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

Requires a valid driver's license and a vehicle.

Comprehensive knowledge and advanced level expertise in assessment of housing and supports needs, crisis intervention, service coordination and community consultation.
 Able to use problem resolution skills to handle sensitive and complex issues related to multiple service involvement and interdisciplinary teams.
 Excellent time management, organizational, prioritization and decisionmaking skills.
 Demonstrated skills and competence to establish supportive, trusting relationships with stakeholders.
 Skills in assessing, planning, development and coordination of services related to housing and recovery.

Physical Requirements

Requires a Light/Medium level of physical strength (i.e. 35 lbs. occasionally, 15 lbs. frequently and 6 lbs. consistently).
 Evening and weekend work will be required.
