Key Responsibilities:

Follow established protocol(s) in Specimen Processing

Ensure proper identification, data entry, and labeling of all samples

Handle unsuitable samples according to established protocols

Address client inquiries and problems professionally

Perform other assigned duties

Qualifications:

Completion of secondary-school level education and a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant training program

Experience in providing exceptional customer service in a demanding environment

Ability to self-manage, prioritize, and collaborate in a team-oriented, time-sensitive setting

Proficiency in MS Office at an intermediate level

Knowledge of laboratory procedures and troubleshooting skills

Working Conditions include a normal office and medical laboratory environment with physical requirements such as walking, standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds. Exposure to bio hazardous substances, temperature differences, and noise variances may occur.

Are YOU our next Lab Assistant Specimen Processing? We're looking for a Specimen Processing Laboratory Assistant to join our team in London, Ontario. As a Lab Assistant you will be responsible for processing of laboratory specimens and/or entering requisitions and/or results accurately and in a timely manner and ensure quality control checks and standards are run as required. Your contributions will make a difference and will greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone's life.

Status: Contract, FullTime, 8 months (Guaranteed 37.5 hours a week)

Shift: Evening Shifts, 3:00 pm 11:00 pm; Monday Friday

Location : 245 Pall Mall Street, London, ON, N6A 1P4

 Ensures that all samples are properly identified, data enter, and labeled
 Follows established protocol(s) for the handling of unsuitable samples
 Ensures all client inquiries and problems are handled in a courteous and professional manner

What YOU Bring To The Role

Completion of secondaryschool level education and a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant training program
 Experience providing exceptional, professional customer focused service in a demanding and frequently changing environment
 Demonstrated ability to selfmanage, prioritize and collaborate in a teamoriented, high volume, timesensitive environment
 Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level
 Knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to apply that knowledge in troubleshooting issues and providing recommendations for solutions

Nice To Have

Knowledge of AS400 Data Entry system/LIS

 Required walking with repetitive motions
 May sit or stand for prolonged period of time with extensive computer use
 Required to lift a maximum of 30 pounds as required

Pay rate: $19.75 $23.50 per hour The hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to, level of experience and education requirements.
