The role involves providing technical support for the teaching laboratories in the Department of Biology, including setting up laboratory rooms, modifying techniques, and preparing materials as needed. The ideal candidate will have a 4-year BSc. degree in Biology or equivalent experience, along with two years of related experience in laboratory equipment assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
Setting up experiments and assessing results in a laboratory setting
Operating a variety of laboratory instruments and ensuring safety regulations are followed
Maintaining and handling animals/aquariums, preparing media, and using sterile techniques
Communicating effectively with others and demonstrating good organizational skills
Independently working, setting priorities, and executing complex tasks under pressure
Qualifications:
4-year BSc. degree in Biology or equivalent recent experience
Two years' related experience in laboratory equipment assembly and troubleshooting
In-depth knowledge of laboratory techniques in Cell and Molecular Biology, Ecology, and Physiology
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and good judgment
