Description:

Join the dynamic Diagnostic Imaging team at Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta as a regular 0.5 FTE MRI technologist. This position offers a great work-life balance while allowing you to make a significant impact in the community. The role may qualify for a recruitment incentive of up to $60,000 based on Return for Service duration.

As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist I, you will produce high-quality diagnostic MRI images ordered by physicians. Responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients for scans, reviewing patient history, explaining procedures, and addressing patients' physical and psychological needs during the scanning process. Additionally, you will maintain MRI equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and record magnetic resonance images for interpretation by Radiologists or Cardiologists
  • Prepare and position patients for MRI examinations
  • Review patient history and explain procedures
  • Respond to patients' physical and psychological needs during scanning
  • Maintain MRI equipment

    • Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Resonance Imaging (MRI) Program or certificate from an accredited MRI Technologist program plus a diploma from an accredited Program in Medical Radiology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound), Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP)
