Are you a physician interested in playing a leadership role in preventing workplace injury and disease in British Columbia? WorkSafeBC is seeking a Medical Advisor to join their team in the Medical Services department. In this role, you will work with adjudicative staff, occupational safety officers, and community physicians to assist injured workers in their recovery, rehabilitation, and safe return to work. You will provide medico-legal opinions and recommendations on workers' medical conditions, causes, and treatments using your academic and clinical knowledge and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate medical impairments and disabilities through review of electronic records and provide opinions on cause, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis

Offer evidence-based medical recommendations to adjudicating officers

Collaborate with community physicians to ensure workers' medical needs are met

Work in a team environment to provide opinions and recommendations

Qualifications:

Eligible for full licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia

Minimum of five years of clinical practice experience

Interest in rehabilitation, mental health, or occupational medicine

Strong communication skills

Eligible for full licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
 A minimum of five years of experience in clinical practice including family medicine, sports medicine, or emergency medicine and an an interest in rehabilitation, mental health, or occupational medicine

 Willing to work in a teambased environment
 Excellent communication skills
