Role and Responsibilities:

Greet patients and visitors professionally

Manage patient check-in and escort patients to exams

Schedule patient appointments

Handle incoming/outgoing faxes

Maintain compliance with privacy regulations

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

High School diploma required, Medical Office Assistant diploma preferred

Medical Receptionist (Summer Student)  Reception (RCP) A Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors. They are responsible for managing front desk operations, which include greeting patients, scheduling appointments and addressing inquiries. Their role ensures patients feel welcomed and informed. In addition, they also handle a variety of critical tasks that facilitate efficient office management. Role and Responsibilities  Patient Care: Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Manage patient checkin and walk patients to their exams and change them according to their exam.  Appointment Scheduling: Schedule and reschedule patient appointments, including followups and consultations.  Incoming/Outgoing Faxes: Handle incoming faxes, including sending appointment requests, attaching requisitions to future appointments, managing consent forms for report releases, sending outgoing faxes as requested.  Administrative Tasks: Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries. Maintain and update patient records and databases (MRIS).  Billing/Insurance: Process patient billing and payment transactions. Verify insurance information and assist with claims submissions.  Communication: Relay messages between patients and healthcare providers. Provide information regarding office policies, procedures and services.
