The Kamloops Aboriginal Friendship Society (KAFS) is seeking a Mental Health Crisis Worker for their Crisis Response, Community Led program. This program aims to provide culturally safe crisis support services to individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use related crises. The ideal candidate will be responsible for rapid point of service mental health crisis management, suicide intervention, and safety planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide crisis de-escalation and counseling
Assess wellness and safety, triage to emergency services, and develop Care Plans
Maintain confidential case notes and documentation
Provide outreach care and emergency mental health response in various settings
Respond to medical emergencies and conduct clinical case management
Engage in leadership practices and work outdoors in all weather conditions
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years' relevant experience
Degree in Mental Health, Counselling, or Social Work
Skilled in situational and mental health assessment
Experience with crisis intervention and harm reduction
Ability to establish working relationships with community care providers
First Aid and CPR Level C certified
Valid Class 5 Drivers License

Training wage of $28 per hour
