Description:

Are you a mental health professional experienced in supporting individuals in psychological distress? We are seeking a Mental Health Specialist to provide interventions to injured workers, collaborating with clients, internal staff, and external stakeholders to identify and respond to risk situations. You will play a crucial role in supporting injured workers and their families during periods of psychological distress, working with community mental health resources, and serving as a resource to claims management teams throughout the province.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review WorkSafeBC suicide risk reports, assess, and prepare a Mental Health Service Plan
  • Support vulnerable workers, including those at risk for suicide, and communicate appellate body claims decisions
  • Share expertise with colleagues to effectively manage mental health issues
  • Communicate and uphold WorkSafeBC's mandate regarding suicide risk management
  • Build partnerships with clients at risk of suicide and deliver presentations on risk identification
  • Qualifications:

  • Understanding of current mental health issues and programs related to depression, chronic pain, and suicidality
  • Ability to facilitate understanding, resolve conflict, and provide support to clients
  • Experience in preparing and presenting information to diverse audiences
  • Work effectively in a team focused on guiding clients with physical and mental health conditions
  • Your background and experience should include a master's degree in a related discipline, four years of relevant experience with a master's degree, or six years of experience with a bachelor's degree. Registration or eligibility to register with a professional college or regulatory body is required. A valid B.C. driver's license is also necessary.

    Before employment, you must meet legal requirements under the Criminal Records Review Act and confirm eligibility to work in Canada.
