Description:

Are you a mental health professional experienced in supporting individuals in psychological distress? WorkSafeBC is seeking a Mental Health Specialist to provide interventions to injured workers during their recovery and return to work. In this role, you will collaborate with clients, internal staff, and external stakeholders to identify and respond to risk situations. Your responsibilities will include providing support to injured workers and their families, working with community mental health resources, and serving as a resource to claims management teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review WorkSafeBC suicide risk reports, assess, and prepare Mental Health Service Plans
  • Support vulnerable workers and communicate appellate body claims decisions
  • Share expertise with colleagues and claims management staff
  • Communicate WorkSafeBC's mandate regarding suicide risk management
  • Build partnerships with clients, families, and stakeholders
  • Deliver presentations on suicide risk identification and response
  • Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate understanding of mental health issues, depression, chronic pain, and suicidality
  • Facilitate understanding, resolve conflict, and provide critical incident support
  • Prepare and present information to diverse audiences
  • Work collaboratively with a focus on guiding clients to achieve treatment goals
  • Your background and experience should include a master's degree in a related field, four years of directly related experience with a master's degree, or six years of directly related experience with a bachelor's degree. Registration or eligibility to register with a professional college or regulatory body is required, along with a valid B.C. driver's license.
