Description:

Are you a mental health professional experienced in supporting individuals in psychological distress? We are seeking a Mental Health Specialist to provide interventions to injured workers in their recovery and return to work. You will collaborate with WorkSafeBC clients, internal staff, and external stakeholders to identify and respond to risk situations, offering support to injured workers and their families during periods of psychological distress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review WorkSafeBC suicide risk reports, investigate, assess, and prepare a Mental Health Service Plan
  • Support vulnerable workers, communicate appellate body claims decisions, and share expertise with colleagues
  • Communicate WorkSafeBC's suicide risk management mandate and build partnerships with stakeholders
  • Deliver presentations on suicide risk identification and response
  • Qualifications:

  • Understand current mental health issues related to depression, chronic pain, and suicidality
  • Facilitate understanding, resolve conflict, and provide support to clients
  • Prepare and present information to diverse audiences
  • Work collaboratively with a focus on guiding clients to achieve treatment goals
  • Your background and experience should include a master's degree in a related field, four years of directly related experience, registration or eligibility with a professional body, and a valid B.C. driver's license. Before employment, you must meet legal requirements and confirm eligibility to work in Canada.
