Description:

Are you a mental health professional experienced in supporting individuals in psychological distress? We are seeking a Mental Health Specialist to provide interventions for injured workers to aid in their recovery and return to work. In this role, you will collaborate with clients, internal staff, and external stakeholders to identify and address risk situations, offer support during periods of psychological distress, and liaise with community mental health resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review suicide risk reports, assess, and prepare Mental Health Service Plans
  • Communicate appellate body claims decisions to vulnerable workers
  • Share expertise with colleagues and claims management staff
  • Deliver presentations on suicide risk identification and response
  • Qualifications:

  • Understanding of mental health issues related to depression, chronic pain, and suicidality
  • Ability to diffuse hostility, resolve conflict, and provide support to clients
  • Experience working with clients to achieve treatment goals
  • Background and Experience:

  • Master's degree in social sciences, social work, or related field
  • Four years of related experience with a master's degree or six years with a bachelor's degree
  • Registration or eligibility to register with a professional college or regulatory body
  • Valid B.C. driver's license
