Description:

Are you a mental health professional with experience supporting individuals in psychological distress? We are seeking a Mental Health Specialist to assist injured workers in their recovery and return to work. In this role, you will collaborate with clients, internal staff, and external stakeholders to identify and respond to risk situations, provide support during periods of psychological distress, and work with community mental health resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review suicide risk reports, assess, and prepare Mental Health Service Plans
  • Communicate appellate body claims decisions to vulnerable workers
  • Share expertise with colleagues to manage mental health issues effectively
  • Build partnerships with clients, families, and stakeholders
  • Deliver presentations on suicide risk identification and response
  • Qualifications:

  • Understanding of mental health issues related to depression, chronic pain, and suicidality
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution
  • Master's degree in a related field or bachelor's degree with relevant experience
  • Registration or eligibility to register with a professional college or regulatory body
  • Valid B.C. driver's license
  • Before employment, you must meet legal requirements under the Criminal Records Review Act and confirm your eligibility to work in Canada.
