Are you a mental health professional experienced in supporting individuals in psychological distress? WorkSafeBC is seeking a Mental Health Specialist to provide interventions to injured workers in their recovery and return to work. In this approximately 18-month temporary role, you will collaborate with clients, internal staff, and external stakeholders to identify and address risk situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review suicide risk reports, assess, and prepare Mental Health Service Plans
  • Support vulnerable workers and communicate appellate body claims decisions
  • Share expertise with colleagues and claims management staff
  • Deliver presentations on suicide risk identification and response
  • Qualifications:

  • Understanding of mental health issues related to depression, chronic pain, and suicidality
  • Ability to communicate controversial information effectively to diverse audiences
  • Master's degree in a related field or bachelor's degree with relevant experience
  • Registration or eligibility with a professional college or regulatory body
  • Valid B.C. driver's license
  • Before employment, candidates must meet legal requirements under the Criminal Records Review Act and confirm eligibility to work in Canada.
