Description:

Are you a mental health professional with experience supporting individuals in psychological distress? We are seeking a Mental Health Specialist to provide interventions to injured workers during their recovery and return to work. In this role, you will collaborate with WorkSafeBC clients, internal staff, and external stakeholders to identify and respond to risk situations. This temporary 18-month assignment offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review suicide risk reports, assess and prepare Mental Health Service Plans
  • Communicate appellate body claims decisions to vulnerable workers
  • Share expertise with colleagues and claims management staff
  • Deliver presentations on suicide risk identification and response
  • Qualifications:

  • Understanding of mental health issues related to depression, chronic pain, and suicidality
  • Ability to communicate controversial information effectively
  • Experience in crisis intervention and mental health
  • Master's degree in social sciences or related field
  • Registration with a professional college or regulatory body
  • Valid B.C. driver's license
  • Before employment, candidates must meet legal requirements under the Criminal Records Review Act and confirm eligibility to work in Canada.
