Description:

Are you a mental health professional experienced in supporting individuals in psychological distress? WorkSafeBC is seeking a Mental Health Specialist to provide interventions to injured workers during their recovery and return to work. In this approximately 18-month temporary assignment, you will collaborate with clients, internal staff, and external stakeholders to identify and respond to risk situations, offering valuable support to injured workers and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review WorkSafeBC suicide risk reports, assess, and prepare Mental Health Service Plans
  • Communicate appellate body claims decisions to vulnerable workers
  • Share expertise with colleagues to manage mental health issues effectively
  • Build partnerships with clients, families, and stakeholders to establish positive relationships
  • Deliver presentations on suicide risk identification and response
  • Qualifications:

  • Understanding of mental health issues related to depression, chronic pain, and suicidality
  • Ability to resolve conflict, provide support, and communicate effectively with diverse individuals
  • Experience in crisis intervention and mental health with a master's or bachelor's degree
  • Registration or eligibility with a professional college or regulatory body
  • Before employment, candidates must meet legal requirements and confirm eligibility to work in Canada.
