Are you a mental health professional experienced in supporting individuals in psychological distress? We are seeking a Mental Health Specialist to provide interventions to injured workers during their recovery and return to work. In this temporary 18-month role, you will collaborate with WorkSafeBC clients, internal staff, and external stakeholders to identify and respond to risk situations, offering crucial support to injured workers and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review suicide risk reports, assess, and prepare Mental Health Service Plans
  • Support vulnerable workers and communicate appellate body claims decisions
  • Share expertise with colleagues and claims management staff
  • Build partnerships with clients, families, and stakeholders
  • Deliver presentations on suicide risk identification and response
  • Qualifications:

  • Understanding of mental health issues related to depression, chronic pain, and suicidality
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals
  • Experience in crisis intervention and mental health support
  • Master's degree in social sciences or related field, or bachelor's in social work
  • Four years of related experience with a master's degree, or six years with a bachelor's degree
  • Registration or eligibility with a professional college or regulatory body
  • Valid B.C. driver's license
