Job Details:

Wage range: $44.03 to $56.50 per hour + an additional $9/hour CASA Classrooms premium

Vacation: 4.18 hours, accrued bi-weekly

Shift structure: Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day

Primary location: Innisfail

Union: In-scope

Classification: Mental Health Therapist

FTE: 1.0 for the duration of the school year

Status: Permanent

About the Role:

You will be part of a team working within community schools, delivering mental health services through CASA Mental Health Classrooms. This program aims to bridge mental health and school needs for students by providing a coordinated approach from a mental health team and a teacher.

The Mental Health Therapist will:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop treatment plans
  • Provide therapeutic interventions and support patients in achieving goals
  • Facilitate transition meetings and complete discharge summaries
  • Be an active member of an interprofessional clinical team
  • Follow organizational policies and facilitate support groups
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to practice culturally-safe therapeutic interventions
  • Excellent assessment, treatment, and communication skills
  • Advanced skills with MS Office products
  • Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, or nursing
  • Minimum of two years of clinical practice in child and family mental health
  • Member in good standing with relevant professional college
  • Training and experience in cognitive behavioural therapy and family interventions
  • Experience working with families and Children and Family Services
  • Conditions of Employment:

  • Criminal Records Check and Child Intervention Check
  • Maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention certification
