Under general supervision, the MRI Technologist at Island Health performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) special procedures as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Responsibilities include receiving and completing requisitions, preparing supplies, patient monitoring, and operating acquisition equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited Magnetic Resonance program and certification as a Technologist in Magnetic Resonance (RTMR) with CAMRT
Three years of related experience, including two years of MRI experience in an acute setting
CPR Certificate - Basic Life Support (BCLS) level for CDH and WCG
Skills And Abilities:
Knowledge of image quality assessment, diagnostic equipment procedures, radiation safety, and quality control standards
Proficient in Microsoft applications, medical imaging computerized applications, and PACS
Organizational and coordination skills
Effective communication, both verbal and written
Ability to establish priorities and work independently or as part of a team
Problem-solving and good public relations skills
Operation of related equipment and willingness to stay updated with technological developments
