Key Responsibilities:

Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program with a Master's degree

Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider certification

Experience in quality improvement and certification preferred

Qualifications:

Active practice as an NP in an acute care clinical setting in the last two years

Knowledge of Connect Care (Epic) and MS Office Suite

Reporting to the Ambulatory Cardiac Sciences Manager, the NP will provide primary and secondary prevention of cardiac disease; diagnosis, management and treatment of conditions that are more prevalent or disproportionately occur in women including nonatherosclerotic coronary disease i.e., microvascular disease, SCAD. The incumbent may be required to support various Calgary sites (satellite women's cardiovascular health clinic sites such as Foothills Hospital and the Peter Lougheed Center) as demands require. The NP working within Cardiac Sciences supports diagnosis, management and treatment of conditions that are more prevalent or disproportionately occur in women including nonatherosclerotic coronary disease patients at SHC through outpatient services support. These outpatient clinics provide care to cardiovascular patients through a collaborative team model including admin support, MD, residents &amp; fellows. The successful will posses effective interpersonal &amp; communication skills to enable working directly with patients &amp; family members and the health care team; function independently; excel at working in a dynamic fast paced environment; demonstrate critical thinking, conflict resolution &amp; problemsolving skills; flexibility in a dynamic role. Demonstrate ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing professional &amp; practice competencies through professional development activities.Description: As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan.
