This job posting is for a permanent full-time position in a primary care clinic for vulnerable adults with unstable mental health and/or substance use disorders. The clinic operates alongside opioid treatment services and is part of the Mental Wellness and Substance Use Services branch of government. The multidisciplinary team includes outreach support workers, licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, social workers, and medical office assistants.

Your role: As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide high-quality person-centred and trauma-informed care to individuals seeking primary care and opioid treatment. You will conduct advanced assessments to guide treatment and improve health outcomes. The role also involves supporting Opioid Treatment Services and providing opioid agonist therapy training when necessary.

Essential qualifications:

  • Registered or eligible to be registered as a Nurse Practitioner with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association
  • Demonstrated application of Nurse Practitioner theory and clinical techniques
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health and substance use challenges

  • Strong relationships with multidisciplinary teams
  • Leadership as a clinical expert/resource
  • Understanding of ethics and confidentiality
  • Ability to provide trauma-informed care
