Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree.

Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure.

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

1-2 years of experience in a Labour and Delivery and/or Postpartum setting as an RN required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.

Experience performing ultrasound assessments preferred.

Experience performing and interpreting NST preferred.

Fetal Health Surveillance certification preferred.

Reporting to Executive Director of Women's Health, this position functions as part of a multidisciplinary team working closely with multidisciplinary Obstetrical Care Providers within the Family Maternity Place and Women's Clinics seeing patients who present with an obstetrical need for assessment, care and treatment. Demonstrates clinical competency in clinical procedures such as Leopold's Maneuver, Basic U/S assessment (e.g. position check), Cervical assessment, Speculum exams, Assessment of amniotic fluid, IV therapy, Venipuncture, Inductions of Labors (e.g. cervidil and foley insertions), Basic Gynecological procedures, I.V. therapy, and Injections.
