Description:

Recruit Action is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse for a part-time/casual position. The role involves providing expert health services in an industrial setting, with a focus on occupational safety and health regulations. Ideal candidates will have experience in OHN, ER, or Urgent Care backgrounds.

What is in it for you:

  • Work hours between 6:30 am to 2:30 pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and apply occupational safety and health regulations.
  • Assess workplace injuries/illnesses in collaboration with the on-site Technical Rescue Team.
  • Manage compliance with Global Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) standards.
  • Promote employee health and wellness programs.
  • Maintain clinical documentation, medical records, and incident investigations.
  • Coordinate accommodations, return-to-work programs, and disability/WSIB claims.
  • Review employee absence reports and follow up as required.
  • Prepare Return to Work and Modified Work plans.
  • Maintain Physical Demands Analysis for plant job roles.
  • Conduct Respiratory Fit testing in line with Ontario Health & Safety Act requirements.
  • Support internal training as needed.
  • Participate in EHSS Action Teams.
  • Flex schedule and support business needs, including possible travel.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Legally licensed and in good standing as a Registered Nurse in Ontario.
  • Certification as an Occupational Health Nurse (COHN (C)).
  • Certification in Standard First Aid and CPR.
  • Certification in audiometry and spirometry.
  • 5 years of experience in an Occupational Health setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems.
  • Strong knowledge of disability management principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
