Role Overview

The Occupational therapist will conduct client sessions within a private practice setting, working with patients who are motivated, engaged, and seeking deeper care beyond symptom management.

Responsibilities

Assess patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive needs to develop individualized treatment plans
 Implement therapeutic interventions to improve patients' functional abilities and independence
 Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
 Document patient progress accurately and maintain detailed records in compliance with healthcare regulations
 Educate patients and their families on therapy techniques, safety measures, and home care strategies
 Manage caseloads efficiently, prioritizing patient needs and adjusting treatment plans as necessary
 Participate in patient discharge planning and followup care to ensure continuity of therapy services

Qualifications

Valid state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist
 Prior experience in hospital or acute care settings preferred; experience in pediatrics is a plus
 Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical best practices
 Proven ability to manage multiple cases effectively through case management skills
 Excellent patient care skills with compassionate communication and teamwork abilities
