Reporting to the Manager or designate, the Occupational Therapist will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide rehabilitation care for clients with chronic, acute, palliative, or rehabilitative health care needs in the community setting. Responsibilities include assessing, treating, and educating clients, as well as consulting and liaising with other health care professionals. The role follows a client-centered care model to promote optimal functional independence in a safe home environment while adhering to regulations and standards of practice.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from a recognized university program in Occupational Therapy

Current licensure with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as an Occupational Therapist

Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT)

Two (2) years of recent related experience or equivalent combination of education and training

Valid BC Driver's Licence

Ability to provide a client-centered holistic approach to care

Excellent communication skills

Strong organizational and prioritization abilities

Knowledge of community resources and dynamics

Physical ability to perform job duties

Experience within Community Health Services is an asset
