Assisted Living Alberta is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Home and Community Care (HCC) team. The role involves administering assessments and implementing interventions to support clients of all ages in achieving optimal functional abilities and independence. The OT will utilize various models and theories to collaborate with clients and families in determining, implementing, and evaluating rehabilitation.
As an OT, you will provide evidence-informed services focused on occupational performance to meet the needs of individuals, groups, or communities. You will engage with clients to enable meaningful occupations, support them in achieving functional abilities, and provide comprehensive services including triage, assessment, treatment, education, and collaboration with stakeholders. Collaboration with clients and families, participation in interprofessional teams, and contribution to quality improvement are key aspects of the role.
Responsibilities include providing clinical supervision, engaging in peer mentoring, and supervising students. The position offers a temporary part-time benefits package, with a start date of February 6, 2026, and an end date of December 14, 2026. The hours per shift are 7.75, with a shift pattern including days, evenings, and weekends.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy, registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists, and a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy. New graduates are welcome to apply, and Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required. Preferred qualifications include previous Continuing Care experience, palliative care experience, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
