Description:

As an Occupational Therapist (OT), you will provide evidence-informed services focused on enabling occupation through assessment, treatment planning, intervention, consultation, education, and follow-up. You will work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with other health disciplines to assess client needs and establish treatment plans. Your responsibilities will include providing clinical direction, maintaining effective communication, and participating in client education. You will also produce and maintain clinical data and documentation to support occupational therapy services.

As an OT, you will engage individuals, groups, and communities to enable meaningful occupations, including self-care, productivity, and leisure. You will support clients in achieving functional abilities and independence related to their strengths and limitations. Your comprehensive services will include assessment, goal setting, treatment, prevention, education, case management, and collaboration with stakeholders within the client's environments. You will involve clients and families in care decisions and collaborate with interprofessional teams to improve services for clients.

You will contribute to quality improvement and your professional community, provide clinical supervision, and mentor students. The position requires a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy, registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists, and 3-5 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist. Basic Cardiac Life Support certification, experience in Home Care or ambulatory care, and strong computer and organizational skills are preferred qualifications.

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
  • 3-5 years' experience as an Occupational Therapist
  • Experience in Home Care or ambulatory care setting
  • Experience working with clients from birth to death
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with Palliative clients, AADL, acute clients, chronic disease management, intermediate computer skills, and strong interpersonal and time management skills. Current or previous experience in a Home Care or Community setting is also beneficial for this position.
