Located just a few minutes north of Edmonton, the Sturgeon Community Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, and be able to work independently. As an OT, you will provide evidence-informed services focusing on occupational performance for individuals, groups, or communities. You will engage clients to enable meaningful occupations, support them in achieving functional abilities, and collaborate with various stakeholders to advance services.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide a range of services including triage, assessment, treatment, education, case management, and collaboration with stakeholders. You will work with clients and families to determine rehabilitation goals and participate in interprofessional teams to enhance support and quality improvement. Additionally, you may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants and Aides.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-informed services focusing on occupational performance
  • Engage clients to enable meaningful occupations

  • Qualifications:

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program
  • Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
  • Completion of a master's degree in Occupational Therapy or relevant experience
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills
  • Conflict resolution and strong communication skills
  • Minimum of 1 year acute care experience within the last 5 years
  • Experience with upper extremity splinting and dysphagia assessments preferred
  • Knowledge of community resources and discharge planning
  • Experience working in the ICU and Emergency Department is an asset
