Description:

As an Occupational Therapist (OT), you will provide evidence-informed services focused on occupational performance for individuals, groups, or communities. You will engage in meaningful occupations, including self-care, productivity, and leisure, to support clients in achieving functional abilities and independence. Your role includes comprehensive services such as assessment, treatment, prevention, education, and collaboration with stakeholders. You will work with clients and families as part of the healthcare team, participate in quality improvement, and provide clinical supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-informed occupational therapy services
  • Engage individuals, groups, and communities in meaningful occupations
  • Collaborate with clients and families in care planning and evaluation
  • Participate in interprofessional teams for quality improvement
  • Contribute to professional community through mentoring and supervision
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university
  • Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists
  • Master's degree or related experience
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Minimum 1 year acute care experience as an OT in the last 5 years
  • Experience in upper extremity splinting and dysphagia assessments preferred
  • Knowledge of community resources and discharge planning
  • Experience in working with geriatric and musculoskeletal injury patients
  • Experience in the Emergency Department is an asset
