Description:

As an Occupational Therapist (OT), you will provide evidence-informed services with a focus on occupational performance for individuals, groups, or communities. You will assess, plan, organize, review, and evaluate the care needs of Acute and Rehabilitation clients and their caregivers/families. You will foster continuity of care by liaising with primary care physicians and other healthcare providers. Additionally, you will advocate for clients' rights and choices while serving as a liaison between clients and the organization.

You will engage individuals in meaningful occupations, support clients to achieve functional abilities, and provide comprehensive services such as triage, consultation, assessment, and treatment. Collaborating with clients and families, you will determine, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation plans. You will participate in interprofessional teams to enhance support and quality improvement initiatives. Furthermore, you may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants and Therapy Aides.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program.

Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Basic Cardiac Life Support--Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification required.

Physically able to handle, move, and lift heavy equipment or individuals.

Two years of recent experience or completion of a refresher program.

1-2 years of recent Home Care or Community experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work effectively within an inter-professional health care team.
