This job posting is for an Occupational Therapist I position at The Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital. The OT I will be responsible for assessing, treating, and planning discharge for adult inpatients and outpatients with neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. The role involves developing expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities, rehab technologies, and educating clients, families, and healthcare providers. Supervising OT students and therapy assistants is encouraged. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic interdisciplinary rehabilitation environment and contribute to innovative practices.

As an OT, you will provide evidence-informed services to enable meaningful occupations, including self-care, productivity, and leisure. You will support clients in achieving functional abilities and independence related to their strengths and limitations. The role includes comprehensive services such as triage, assessment, treatment, prevention, education, and collaboration with stakeholders. You will work with clients and families to determine, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation plans. Participation in interprofessional teams, quality improvement initiatives, and peer mentoring is expected.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program.
  • Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
  • Additional Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated strong clinical decision-making ability in complex environments.
  • Effective communication, planning, and organization skills.
  • Minimum two years' experience with standardized adult assessment.
  • Experience working with adults with neurological impairment.
  • Physical ability to assist with patient transfers and mobility.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with neuromuscular electrical stimulation, cognitive rehabilitation, and vision treatment modalities.
  • Experience working with individuals with cognitive impairment.
  • Ability to assist with patient transfers, lifts, and positioning.
  • Membership with CAOT or SAOT.
