Description:

Assisted Living Alberta is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Home Living team, providing support services to clients of all ages in their homes. Working in a multidisciplinary team, you will assess client needs, develop care plans, and collaborate with internal and external resources to deliver client-centered services.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will focus on occupational performance to meet individual, group, or community needs. You will engage clients in meaningful occupations, support functional abilities, and promote independence. Your responsibilities will include triage, assessment, treatment, education, and collaboration with stakeholders to enhance client services.

You will work with clients and families to determine rehabilitation goals, participate in interprofessional teams, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Additionally, you may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants and Therapy Aides.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-informed services focusing on occupational performance
  • Engage clients in meaningful occupations to support functional abilities
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to deliver client-centered services
  • Participate in interprofessional teams to enhance client services
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and professional community
  • Provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants and Therapy Aides
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program
  • Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
  • Additional Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BCLS HCP)
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Demonstrated computer knowledge and proficiency
  • Ability to work independently in various home environments
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Continuing Care or Palliative care experience
  • Experience with Connect Care and RAI HC assessment tool
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
