Description:

Assisted Living Alberta is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join the Children's Home Care (CHC) program in Edmonton. The OT will act as both a Case Manager and a direct care provider, working with children from birth to 18 years old with various medical and developmental needs. The role involves assessing, organizing, and communicating with clients and families to develop care plans and provide support services.

As an OT, you will provide evidence-informed services focusing on occupational performance to meet individual, group, or community needs. You will engage with clients to enable meaningful occupations, support functional abilities, and promote independence. The role includes comprehensive services such as assessment, goal setting, treatment, education, and collaboration with stakeholders. You will also participate in interprofessional teams to improve services and support clients.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists. The ideal candidate will have experience in pediatric care, community settings, and working with interdisciplinary teams. Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills are essential.

  • Additional Required Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to provide exceptional clinical care in a changing healthcare environment
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently
  • Experience lifting and carrying medical equipment
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent experience in pediatric care
  • Experience in community settings and with Connect Care
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams
