Assisted Living Alberta is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Home and Community Care team in Edmonton Zone Continuing Care. The OT will provide professional support services in clients' homes, administering assessments and implementing interventions in various clinical areas. The role involves using OT models and theories to collaborate with clients and families in determining, implementing, and evaluating rehabilitation.

As an OT, you will engage individuals, groups, and communities to enable meaningful and chosen occupations, including self-care, productivity, and leisure. You will support clients in achieving optimal functional abilities and independence related to their cognitive, affective, spiritual, and physical status. The role also includes providing comprehensive services, collaborating with clients and families, participating in interprofessional teams, and contributing to quality improvement and professional community.

The position is classified as Occupational Therapist I with a part-time schedule, requiring a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists. Additional qualifications include a master's degree, BCLS HCP certification, and the ability to work independently in various settings. Preferred qualifications include previous Continuing Care experience, palliative care experience, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy

  • Ability to work independently in various settings
  • Excellent communication and assessment skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer programs
  • Preferred qualifications include previous Continuing Care experience and palliative care experience
