We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our Neuromuscular Team and help optimize the quality of life for children and youth with neuromuscular conditions and their families. Key Responsibilities
Partner with clients and families to set individualized client-centered goals
Provide client care in collaboration with families and document the process
Interface with the interprofessional care team and community providers
Incorporate evaluative activities into practice and utilize research
Provide direct service, consultation, and education to clients and families
Address challenges in client occupational performance
Organize and coordinate assistive technology for clients
Contribute to the hospital's academic mission through teaching and research
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a safe work environment
Document workload statistics according to Ministry of Health
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required; Master's degree preferred
Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
Experience in occupational therapy assessment and treatment of children and youth
Knowledge of mobility devices and progressive neuromuscular disorders
Ability to manage clinical responsibilities effectively and communicate with clients and team
Commitment to professional development and quality improvement
Status appointment in the Department of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy at University of Toronto is an asset
