Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) for Warkworth Place Long-Term Care in Warkworth, ON. The PSW will provide direct personal and nursing care to residents, meeting their physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. This is a Casual role with varying shifts, including weekends, in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in providing direct care for residents
Encourage participation in activity programs
Assist with meal service and nourishment delivery
Provide emotional and social support to residents/families
Adhere to established departmental policies and procedures
Consult with supervisor on unit activities and resident care
Participate in care conferences and documentation
Knowledge And Skills Required
Completed a PSW Program meeting appropriate standards
Experience in long-term care an asset
Knowledge and experience in care planning systems
Mentally and physically able to perform duties
Ability to communicate positively with staff, residents, and families
Demonstrate empathy, concern, and interest in providing quality care
Organizational skills and ability to complete assignments in a timely fashion
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to provide resident care in accordance with legislation and care plans
Negative vulnerable sector check and 2 Step TB Skin test required
