The City's Seniors Services and Long-Term Care Division in Toronto is seeking individuals to join their team at Bendale Acres to provide exceptional care and services to seniors and residents in long-term care homes. Major Responsibilities:
Participating in team meetings and aiding in the development of care plans.
Assisting with resident/client admittances, transfers, and departures, including personal care.
Observing and reporting on resident/client conditions.
Assisting with personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
Providing general care for bedridden residents/clients.
Assisting with daily exercise programs and use of rehabilitative equipment.
Transferring residents to and from dining areas.
Checking and monitoring residents/clients' diet and feeding.
Preparing and delivering beverages and snacks, measuring weight, and recording outputs.
Maintaining cleanliness, changing linen, and stocking supplies.
Promoting emotional well-being and monitoring resident/client safety.
Participating in social and recreational programs for residents/clients.
Key Qualifications:
Bilingual in English and French.
Completion of a Personal Support Worker Program or equivalent training.
Experience in providing personal care in a long-term or rehabilitation care setting.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work in a team environment and follow policies and regulations.
Physically capable of lifting and transferring residents.
Knowledge of infection control principles and personal protective equipment.
Additional Information:
Hours of work can be up to 75 hours bi-weekly, based on operational needs. Selected candidates will need to provide a Police Reference Check with vulnerable sector screening, tuberculosis screening, and proof of immunization.
