Hardt, a food-service equipment manufacturer in Montreal, is seeking an R&D Lab Manager to oversee prototyping and testing activities within the lab. This role involves managing testing operations, product-food validation, lab and process management, safety, cleanliness, cross-functional collaboration, team leadership, and more.

The R&D Lab Manager will report directly to the VP of Engineering & Development and will be responsible for ensuring all tests are conducted safely, consistently, and in compliance with regulatory standards. They will lead a technical team, develop lab processes, enforce safety standards, and collaborate with other departments.

Key responsibilities include managing testing operations, product-food validation, lab organization, maintenance, calibration, and purchasing guidelines. The role also involves enforcing 5S principles, maintaining a clean workspace, ensuring safety compliance, and providing team leadership and development.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, along with a Professional Engineer designation. They should have at least 10 years of experience in test engineering or validation, including 3 years in a supervisory role. Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required.
