Description:

The Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) is responsible for providing routine, urgent, and stat specimen testing in a fully computerized and highly automated Core Laboratory setting. They will perform various laboratory procedures accurately, efficiently, and safely while maintaining quality control and prioritizing workload. Additionally, the MLT will be involved in teaching, training, method evaluation, technical writing, quality assurance projects, and safety projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Successfully complete a course of study in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited Canadian Institution
  • Successfully complete the examinations set by the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Sciences to obtain Registered Technologist status (CSMLS)
  • Up-to-date registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with patients, families, and other members of the health care team in an effective, professional, caring manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
