The town of Peace River, located in northwestern Alberta, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their dynamic rural emergency department. The department serves as a stroke, cardiac, and trauma center for the area, caring for patients from CTAS 1-5. The successful candidate will work closely with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care while following AHS values. Previous experience in an ER department is preferred. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS offers a Remote Retention Allowance of up to $3000 annually, non-pensionable and payable on an hourly basis. Temporary accommodation and relocation may be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations
Utilize nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making
Teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families
Support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance
Reflect the shared vision and values of AHS
Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program
Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
Completion of required free courses if not practiced as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse within the past five years
Additional qualifications as required
Preferred qualifications include OBS, NRP, ACLS, med/surg experience, medication administration skills, organizational and critical thinking skills, and ability to work independently
