Description:

This Registered Nurse position at the Northeast Community Health Centre involves providing care within the IV Therapy & Women's Health Clinics. The role includes assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care, following clinical policies and standards. The RN must possess leadership, judgement, and decision-making skills, as well as participate in inter-professional collaboration. Responsibilities include working with patients of all ages, including those from high-risk social determinants of health and new Canadians.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, ensuring their safety and well-being. Utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, you will teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and families. You will support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
  • Minimum 3 years recent Women's Obstetrical Health/Fetal Health Surveillance experience.
  • Strong experience with IV initiation and maintenance.
  • Competency with medication administration.
  • Training and experience utilizing Connect Care for scheduling and EMR.
  • Strong comprehensive patient assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and independence of practice in a team environment.
  • Strong critical thinking, time-management, and organization skills.
  • Expertise in patient teaching/education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a physically challenging environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current experience with wound care.
  • Ambulatory Care experience.
