Description:
The University of Alberta Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide nursing services in the medicine program. The program includes 14, 18+ bed units with specialized services and utilizes a collaborative care model. The position involves supporting patient care, utilizing evidence-based practice, and quality improvement principles to enhance patient outcomes.
As a Registered Nurse, you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. The position requires critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, teaching, counseling, and advocating for patients and families.

Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
- Must be able to work to full scope of practice on a fast-paced unit
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Strong critical thinking skills and experience with team nursing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years acute care experience
- Compassionate, adaptable, and committed to providing high-quality care
- Strong communication skills, patience, and kindness
- Preference for experience in charge nurse, nephrology, intermediate care, pulmonary, or hematology/oncology
