As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, ensuring their safety and well-being. Utilizing critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, you will teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and their families. Playing a leadership role in patient care, health promotion, and maintenance, you will reflect the vision and values of AHS.
Key Responsibilities:
Assume responsibility and accountability for patient care management following AHS, professional association, and ORNAC standards.
Competently assume the role of team leader or charge nurse.
Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Effective communication skills and ability to adapt communication style to meet patient needs.
Reliable, dependable, and able to safeguard confidential information.
Assessment skills to respond to patient status changes.
Ability to work in a team environment and manage conflicting priorities.
Skills in conflict management, time management, and problem-solving.
Technical and clinical skills in scrub and circulating roles.
Mentoring and precepting abilities.
Preferred: Minimum 3 years recent surgical suite (OR) experience, perioperative course certification, ACLS and PALS certification, teaching and mentoring skills, basic computer skills.
